Frobel and Schurz and Peabody- Oh My!

Nov. 14- Today I give thanks for Friedrich Frobel.  He is the man who began a Kindergarten program.  It originated in Germany and came to the United States by way of Margarethe Schurz.  Her program was still in German but Elizabeth Peabody opened the first English-speaking Kindergarten in 1860 in Massachusetts. Although the program has changed in many ways, and I'm sure it will change in many more, I'm extremely thankful for the people who began this wonderful program!
